PORTSMOUTH, NH – Kennebunk Savings is supporting local nonprofit incubator GoodWork with a $5,000 donation. GoodWork’s mission is to develop and strengthen the seacoast nonprofit community by providing strategic support and affordable space to both live and work (at their headquarters, the historic Carey Cottage).
“We’re very fortunate to have so many new and energized folks in the nonprofit community,” said Maureen Flaherty, EVP, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at Kennebunk Savings. “They have the ideas and they have the wherewithal. The team at GoodWork connects them with the rest. It’s an invaluable leg up, and it’s one that everyone in the community ultimately benefits from.” The Kennebunk Savings marketing team toured the facility at Carey Cottage this summer and held their annual offsite strategy planning sessions there.
GoodWork engages a team of current and recently-retired nonprofit executives who serve as mentors for nonprofits in the incubator program. They also provide pro-bono consulting, legal advice, financial counseling, and grant-writing and planning assistance. Their space at the newly-renovated Carey Cottage supplies both working space and affordable living space for nonprofit leaders getting off the ground.
“We want to create confident, well-connected, resilient leaders,” said Molly Hodgson, GoodWork’s CEO. “Kennebunk Savings has a long history of working with nonprofits to help the community thrive – they want what we want, too.”
