Fraud Services & Support

Kennebunk Savings cares about keeping your personal information and accounts safe. We offer complimentary fraud and security features with our personal and business accounts.

Secure Online and Mobile Banking include built-in security features

Our online platform and mobile app are password protected with multifactor authentication and a high encryption level to block your financial information from outsiders.

What you can do: Create a unique user ID and strong password that includes upper and lowercase letters, a symbol, and a number. As added protection, never reuse a password, especially for your financial accounts! Make sure you have you an up-to-date operating system on your computer and our latest app on your mobile device.

Voice ID technology confirms it’s you when you call us

Voice ID is an authentication technology that creates a unique voiceprint when you call Customer Care. When you speak with us, it will match your voiceprint and quickly identify you. A voiceprint includes more than one million unique physical and behavioral characteristics of a person.  Independent research has shown that a voiceprint is as unique to an individual as a fingerprint.

What you can do: We’re happy to enroll you in Voice ID the next time you call us at 800.339.6573.

Account alerts keep you informed about your transactions

Alerts are an easy way to stay on top of important account activity. Alerts can appear as email, push notifications via a mobile device or a text, and can notify you about your account balance, deposits, withdrawal activity, payment due dates and more. You can choose what alerts you want to receive.

What you can do: To set up alerts, log in to Online or Mobile Banking and select “Alerts.”

Debit card management features keep your card safe

We put tools at your fingerprints to help you prevent fraud and monitor your debit card transactions.

What you can do: Watch our video to manage your debit card settings.

Personal chip cards offer contactless, encrypted transactions in stores

That small, silver chip on your debit card adds an extra layer of protection that makes your card information more difficult to steal or copy. When it interacts with a chip-enabled reader, it creates a unique single-use code to validate the transaction.

What you can do: Use “tap to pay” or “wallet pay” when available to make contactless payments to reduce the risk of having your information compromised.

Three steps to take in case of fraud

1CALL YOUR BANK

Call Kennebunk Savings at 800.339.6573 so we may review your account activity and determine the appropriate next steps to secure your account(s). Do the same with any other company where the fraud may have occurred.

Change all your logins, passwords and PINS for all your accounts.

2CONTACT CREDIT BUREAUS

Contact one of the credit bureaus and request a fraud alert, which will make it more difficult for someone to open an account in your name. You only need to contact one bureau, they are required to inform the other two of the fraud alert.

Request a copy of your consumer credit report from each of the above credit bureaus by visiting annualcreditreport.com or calling 877-322-8228.

Carefully review your credit reports for fraudulent activity. Write down any account or transaction that you don’t recognize.

3CONTACT AUTHORITIES

Report fraudulent activity to the FTC by visiting IdentityTheft.gov. Share any information you have about how your account may have been compromised and any suspicious activity on your account(s) and credit reports.

Contact your local police department to file a report.
